Obama's Jesus

Posted by Shaun Pierce

Barack Obama denied reports that he is a closeted Muslim and instead declared candidly and with youthful verve that he believes in Jesus Christ.

That should be good news to Christians right?

Don't get too excited just yet. While the junior state senator made it clear that he is not a Muslim but a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, I'd like to know which Jesus he is referring to?

Mr. Obama's Jesus apparently does not have much in common with my Jesus. The Obama Jesus, or OJ for short, believes abortion should be available in all nine months of pregnancy.
My Jesus, or MJ for short, would value life at all times.

OJ does not think parents need to be notified when their 13 year-old girl goes in for an abortion. MJ thinks a 13 year old is still a child and not capable of making life and death choices on her own.

OJ opposes any and all bans on partial birth abortion (an act that includes delivery of the baby up to the head, the crushing of the baby's noggin, the vacuuming of the brain matter and then completed delivery of the child's deflated cranium)

MJ winces and weeps at the mere thought of such an action.

OJ advances the radical homosexual activist lobby in their pursuit to destroy traditional marriage and votes against the defense of traditional marriage.

MJ remembers Adam and Eve that God made in Genesis and while he favors equality, he is not in favor "special rights" for people who engage in homosexuality for the sole purpose of putting them at the front of the line on issues of employment, housing and litigation .

OJ supports the advancement of all "hate crimes" legislation, which ultimately could be used to silence pastors who believe—according to their own convictions—that homosexual behavior is . . . uh . . . wrong . . . and preach the same from biblical texts.

MJ is just stunned at how far we have spiraled out of control.

OJ cheers the continued funding of Planned Parenthood clinics in our nation's inner cities, which are performing genocide against the populations of African Americans living there.

MJ calls that funding evil.

OJ goes to a church that propagates anti-white, anti-American and anti-Jewish blather, zany 9/11 "was our fault because we're racists" rancor, and a "black value system" all via a pastor who has hung out with Qaddafi and honors Louis Farrakhan.

MJ prefers to attend a church where God is the focus and not some twisted personal gospel of hate.

It's one thing is believe in Jesus and it's another to follow him. Based on Obama's voting record and his church's manifesto, I see a clear disconnect.

It is not for me to judge the man's heart. He might be a Christian, but he's certainly not the poster child for the cause. Catholics had the same disingenuous pitch from John Kerry in 2004.

The only way Obama can keep Christ and his liberal credo is to blow off huge chunks of the Bible and replace Scripture with the make-believe notions.

I suppose if you can convince yourself that God makes of "suggestions" instead of commandments, you might be able to keep a straight face.

As we move forward in this election, Christians must understand they are about to be used. You are the prize. Every candidate wants and needs your vote on both sides of the isle. So instead skipping around the maypole wearing rose-colored glasses understand this.... While everyone seeking office will kiss your Christian butt till November, if it were left up to the punch drunk secular Left, evangelical Christians would officially be stuffed in the museum of idiots and not allowed to ever come out of the glass case.

I'm attempting to shake you back to consciousness. Has charismatic youthfulness already lulled you into a haze?

PETA Even the Animals are Embarrassed

I'm contacted on a regular basis by folks from PETA. (People for the Ethical treatment of Animals) They always want media coverage on some racy stunt in order to bring attention to their cause. Last time they walked around barely dressed to protest fur or cheese burgers or something.

I like animals. I also like cheeseburgers. This is not a dilemma for me. I have cat and eat a cow and sleep just fine at night.

I'm sure some of these PETA folks have good intentions. However, they seemed to be greatly outnumbered by the people who are just plain insane.

The local paper in Tyler, Texas reports: "Sheriff's officials were astounded Thursday by a letter requesting Christopher Lee McCuin. the man accused of murdering his girlfriend and possibly participating in cannibalism, be placed on a vegetarian diet to keep him from being "involved in any senseless killing" while incarcerated.

How dare they compare the brutal murder of a woman to a food choice. This is where I lose any respect whatsoever for their organization or cause.

"It is up to you to prevent McCuin from contributing to any more suffering and death by placing him on a healthy, humane vegetarian diet," the letter by PETA Vice President Bruce Friedrich reads.

The twisted logic behind this ridiculous argument is that all meat comes from death. A person could be encouraged to kill by eating meat. "Only in a culture where people routinely kill and eat living, feeling beings would anyone even think to kill and eat a human loved one," Friedrich said.

The cause of death and violence and unspeakable acts in this world are not due one's diet. We live in a world where abortion is accepted and in some cases a celebrated "right". Violence equals entertainment and the value of a person is measured by their material possessions. The weak are warehoused or discarded and self interest determines our actions.

If PETA is really concerned about suffering and death, then I suggest they use their power, influence and media capabilities to challenge abortion. You must change hearts before minds. A society that kills an innocent child can not have a higher respect for animals when humans are disposable.

Got Any Change?

You hear it every four years and then it fades away. It's that word "Change"

Turn on the TV or open the paper and you are bound to see some presidential wannabe standing near a sign that says Change!

Mitt Romney:"This is a time when America wants change. Washington is broken."
Rudy Giuliani: "Change is a concept. Is it change for good or change for bad?"
Mike Huckabee: "I'm not running for George Bush's third term."
John McCain:"The fact is that the American people have lost trust and confidence in government" on dealing with illegal immigration.
Fred Thompson: "As far as change is concerned, the change we need is to go to constitutional principles."
Ron Paul: "The Bush doctrine of pre-emptive war is not a minor change; this is huge. … This is not necessary."

Democrats
Hillary Rodham Clinton: "I embody change. I think having the first woman president is a huge change."
John Edwards: " I believe deeply in change."
Barack Obama: "If we're going to bring about real change, then we have to bring in the American people."
Bill Richardson:"I love change. We all are for change."

Do we really need change? I'd like to hear someone say they are going to keep things the way they are. If something really does change, I have to change with it and that's a burden to me.

You know when you get a new car. You have to learn how to turn on the headlights all over again. I want to turn on the radio and I get blasted with heat. I knew how to do it in the old one. I knew what button did what, but now the car suddenly is smarter then me.

Over the weekend I got a new cellphone. My old phone made calls. I could call out, people could call me. But I had the same phone for a few years and it was starting to show wear and tear so it was time for a "change". I told the guy at the store I just wanted a plain old phone. I didn't care of it had a rotary dial on the darn thing. Well you would have thought I had two heads.

So now I have a phone (I think) that takes pictures, video, has GPS, plays music, can text message, surf the web and keep my life in order. That's assuming I ever figure the darn thing out. And once I do figure out all the stuff I'll never use, you guessed it, it will be time for a change.

Pope Benedict XVI Calls The Church To Prayer

To atone for sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic priesthood, Pope Benedict XVI has called for constant prayer in churches worldwide in what could be the largest prayer initiative ever seen.

The instruction was sent to bishops in the form of a letter by Cardinal Cláudio Hummes of Brazil, head of the Vatican Congregation for the Clergy. He told L'Osservatore Romano, that the Pope wanted Catholics to pray "to make amends before God for the evil that has been done and hail once more the dignity of the victims," who had suffered from the "moral and sexual conduct of a very small part of the clergy". He did not indicate how long he saw the adoration continuing.

Cardinal Hummes said a letter had gone to "dioceses, parishes, rectories, chapels, monasteries, convents and seminaries" calling on them to organize groups of adorers of the Blessed Sacrament.

Cardinal Hummes said that the aim was to put a definitive stop to a scandal that had damaged the image of the Church. He said that the scandal was exceptionally serious.

"There have always been problems because we are all sinners," said Hummes. "But in these times some truly very grave deeds have come to light. Obviously one must always keep in mind that only a minimal part of the clergy has been involved in grave situations. Not even 1 percent is involved with problems of moral and sexual conduct."

POLLONY!

Could it be that the "experts" have not clue as the what they are doing? On Pollster writes “It is simply unprecedented for so many polls to have been so wrong. We need to know why.” (ABC News)

Why? I'll tell you why. It's because the real election is in November! Yet the media acts as if the fate of the world is suddenly to be decided in Iowa, no wait, New Hampshire. Maybe voters have figured out how to mess with the media. I respond to polls with the opposite of what I really think. It keeps everyone guessing.

I guess I'm not the only one. Final polls gave Obama a sizeable lead. (RealClearPolitics)

Pray and Pay

By Shaun Pierce

There something just not right about it. That's what pops into my head as preacher turns my TV into a pulpit and asks me to send money.

Some of them fund worthy causes, no doubt. But it seems many of them also fund lavish lifestyles and prey on the weak, desperate and vulnerable.

Eric Gorski is a religion writer for the Associated Press. He spoke with Cindy Fleenor, a 53-year-old accountant from the Tampa, Fla. Be faithful in how you live and how you give, the television preachers said, and God will shower you with material riches Cindy believed every word. So much so she pledged $500 a year to Joyce Meyer.

She wrote checks to Benny Hinn and Paula White. She didn't really have the money but if the preachers were right God would bless her and provide her all the money she needed.
It did not happen. Fleenor ended up borrowing money from friends and payday loan companies just to buy groceries. At first she believed the explanation given on television: Her faith wasn't strong enough.

"I wanted to believe God wanted to do something great with me like he was doing with them," she said. "I'm angry and bitter about it. Right now, I don't watch anyone on TV hardly."
This is the point where my blood pressure rises. These people are not preachers at all. They are predators who use God as a disguise. I can't help but wonder what will happen to these folks when they take their final breath. When all the material things that have collected are left behind and they stand in judgment.

The really sad thing is most of these victims never get around to discovering who the real culprit here is. Like Fleenor, they blame themselves or God. God does not sell blessings. We are to give with a cheerful heart. Nowhere in Scripture are we to be guilted or pressured into giving. In fact that's not giving, it's taking on behalf of these false preachers.

I can't tell you how many well intentioned people get sucked into this scam thinking they are doing the will of God. A story of a women who stopped cancer treatment after Benny Hinn told her she was cured still haunts me. She pushed aside all treatment after attending the Benny Hinn circus and died 3 months later after her cancer grew out of control.

I talked to two brothers who wanted to be guests on our show. After discovering they were part of the "Word of Faith" movement out of Tulsa, OK we talked for awhile. Their mother had recently died and the boys were told she died because of "unconfessed sin in her life." I'm sorry, but that's a lie. It's also heartless and cruel to tell someone who just lost their mother.

Where are the church leaders on this? We need some strong moral voices to stand up, warn people, call these people to repent and defend the gospel. The only response I've heard is one telling the government and IRS to stay out of the church. Well if taxes are owed or a person abuses the tax exempt status of a church then it is the responsibility of the government to respond.

I believe there is a wonderful opportunity to spread the gospel through the electronic medium. However, we need to make sure it is the gospel that is being preached and not another false faith franchise. Jesus address this with the money changes in the temple. Well the money changes are now buying airtime.

The Gospel According to Joel Osteen

By Shaun "Powerball" Pierce
http://powerballplace.blogspot.com/2007/12/gospel-according-to-joel-osteen.html

You would think a pastor should have some basic Bible knowledge. Osteen proves that theroy wrong time and time again.

The latest is his statement that he believes Mormons are genuine Christians. This incredible statement from an alleged evangelical pastor came during Osteen’s December 23rd appearance on FOX News Sunday With Chris Wallace.

Wallace asks Joel Osteen:
WALLACE: And what about Mitt Romney? And I’ve got to ask you the question, because it is a question whether it should be or not in this campaign, is a Mormon a true Christian?

OSTEEN: Well, in my mind they are. Mitt Romney has said that he believes in Christ as his savior, and that's what I believe, so, you know, I'm not the one to judge the little details of it. So I believe they are. And so, you know, Mitt Romney seems like a man of character and integrity to me, and I don't think he would — anything would stop me from voting for him if that's what I felt like.

WALLACE: So, for instance, when people start talking about Joseph Smith, the founder of the church, and the golden tablets in upstate New York, and God assumes the shape of a man, do you not get hung up in those theological issues?

OSTEEN: I probably don’t get hung up in them because I haven’t really studied them or thought about them. And you know, I just try to let God be the judge of that. I mean, I don’t know. I certainly can’t say that I agree with everything that I’ve heard about it, but from what I’ve heard from Mitt, when he says that Christ is his savior, to me that’s a common bond. (Online source)

Joel, please study a bit before you choke on your foot again.
